I was told from the very beginning that we the people of India have the best culture in the world and also about “Unity in Diversity”. It takes me a lot of time to figure it out what those exactly means before that I was having a very vague idea about our Culture and Unity .As I am Hindu at that time I used to think about our culture i.e. about Hindu Rituals and Culture. At that time I think that the way we treat our parents and our elders represent our culture and it’s literally the best one anyone can have . I grew up and then I came to know about every religion and every states are having their own culture and tradition. Then the idea of Unity in Diversity hits my mind . I was amazed to learn it that how we’re living all in here . With different people , different cultures and they are bound together in a single thread which is India.
As I grow up I encountered with the problems what our country is facing . When I was small I used to think that there’s only Unity in India not anything else . We love each other , We care for each other and we are together. Then I came to know about the caste system from my own family and surrounding . I started to notice that some people are denied to some kind of work as they are not from Upper Caste. Some people who are from Low Caste are assigned to work as Labourers . And I was surprised by the fact that they even accepted such tradition too.
I was traumatized by that because that concept of best culture was fading away slowly . Then I started to notice about the Religional differences as a child I was only familiar with the Hinduism but now I was familiar with other religions too . At first I think that the concept of Unity in Diversity holds true in this case so it was kind of euphoria for me that such things like UNITY can only be in India so we’re the best one.
I grew up more then I came to know about the Ram Mandir Dispute. I was curious to know all about that so my family members told me Lord Rama used to live in Ayodhya then a brutal king Babur came and he destroyed that place and built a Mosque over there . As that land belongs to Lord Rama many people from our religion go there and destroyed the temple .
At first I started to think that people who are Muslims are the bad one in all these but when I heard the second part that people who belongs to Hindu also went over there to do the same . I was perplexed by all this. Maybe we were right in destroying the Mosque or they were wrong in destroying the temple.
You People wouldn’t have noticed that I’m using they instead of Babur and using our religion people Instead of Hindu.
These are the thoughts which were at that time in my mind as I was not aware of the things and I was only knowing what my family , my society , my religion told me .
Now the thing which were once the source of joy for me i.e. Unity also started to fade away .I was distressed by the fact that the things which were told to us from the very little age is wrong where is the Cultural goodness and where is the Unity in Diversity.
Then I think if I think that way maybe everyone must be thinking the same way. So out of curiosity I inquired few of my friends then I find that there’s a difference in their opinion some think that Yes we’re superior to others and others think that these things should not take place . Some think that Hinduism is the best others think that Islam is best or any other religion actually in this case most of them favoured Thier own religion and very small portion of them says that we’re all equal ,persons with opinion of equality were the educated ones.
From all this nothing good comes instead they make the thing much worse . I started to think why they didn’t think the same way as I think , why they don’t have the same opinion which I have and if they think like that why I don’t think like them .
New idea strikes to my mind maybe they are just the common people they can be wrong but the leaders who run our country can’t be wrong . So I start collecting the information of our leaders . That was more difficult than I was thinking . Sometimes I think that they’re favouring Hindus and other time they are favouring Muslims. Some party leaders says that Hindus are right and others says Muslims are right.
Now things were being clearer to me as I was started to become aware of all of this . The seed of difference that our society and family sow in our mind from the very beginning is the the problem this is the place from where the differences come. Our family and our society is not the one at fault it’s our leaders on which we trust and they manipulate us so shrewdly we can’t even feel that .

They were the one who told our societies which religion is good or which culture is good . They’re the ones who made us think that our people are one who belonged to Hindu or Muslims . They manipulate us in the way so that the concept of We as Indian fade away and the concept of We as religion comes in .
But there are also some people who thinks all our we as a Indian. After all of the choas they still choose to be Indian not a religion people.
I think I’ve got the reason why our country is best because of those people who are still in between us and keeping us together as UNITE.
